SO, today I have something a little different for you. The D.W. Alexander Lounge in Toronto asked if they could share a cocktail recipe with you all, and the recipe they had in mind was so intriguing that I couldn't say no! I tested it out myself over the weekend and - all credit to them - it's the epitome of a perfect spring cocktail. Here's a few words from the Lounge plus the recipe below; enjoy!
Spring is probably the best season for cocktails. During this time you have different fresh fruit which you can incorporate into your cocktails and create excellent mixtures. It gives you the chance to put your mind at ease and experiment with different flavors which are not available otherwise. Even if you were to use some frozen fruit during winter, for example, the taste can never be the same and it is incomparable to the real deal.
People who love cocktails are always on the hunt for new and refreshing recipes. No matter how many cocktails you try, you can never get enough because you never know what kind of surprise awaits you just around the corner. Goose in spring is such a cocktail. Made by Elijah Venanzi, this drink is incredibly refreshing. It is a perfect mixture for spring. You can enjoy it while sitting on the front porch and gazing into the first spring sun. Mister Venanzi acquired many different herbs and fruits from his garden and made a real treat for himself and his guests. The cocktail has everything imaginable. It has lavender, lemon, raspberry and elderflower (consisted in St. Germaine). Even vodka, which serves as the basis of this drink, has been infused with lavender which completes the herbal circle.

Goose in Spring {Cocktail}
Lavender-infused vodka mingles with lemon, raspberry, and elderflower to create this refreshing spring cocktail.
- Yield: 1 cocktail 1x
Ingredients
- 2 ounces lavender-infused Grey Goose vodka*
- 2 raspberries
- ¾ ounce St. Germaine Elderflower Liqueur
- ¼ ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
- ice
- lavender, for glass
- lemon twist, for garnish
Instructions
- Muddle raspberries in a cocktail shaker. Add infused vodka, liqueur, and lemon juice. Fill shaker with ice and shake well.
- Rub a martini glass with lavender. Strain mixture into glass and garnish with a lemon twist.
Notes
*This cocktail requires a little bit of time for preparation mainly because you need to infuse vodka with lavender. To do this: add 2 sprigs of lavender to vodka and leave in for 6 days. Afterwards, double strain to remove herbs from bottle.
