BLACKBERRY MIMOSA

HOW TO MAKE A

Give the orange juice a break; this summery mimosa recipe is made with fresh blackberry juice instead! With the addition of a little mint, it's a bubbly, fruity, and refreshing brunch cocktail.

Here's what you'll need

Start by muddling fresh blackberries in a glass, until they're soft and juicy. You want to break them down as much as possible.

Next, use a piece of cheesecloth to strain the juice from the berries. You could also do this with raspberries!

Add fresh spearmint and a sprinkle of coarse sugar, and muddle the mint in the blackberry juice. The goal is to release the mint oils into the drink.

Stir in ice to chill the mixture. You can also add a small amount of simple syrup if you want a sweeter cocktail, or if your blackberries aren't quite as ripe and sweet as you'd like.

Strain into a champagne flute. A basic cocktail strainer makes quick work of this task!

Finally, top with champagne. You can add fresh berries or a mint sprig as a fun garnish. This recipe would be perfect for brunch on Easter, Mother's Day, or any summer occasion!
