This is the day when I give you a *mini* behind-the-scenes look at my pantry and cover my face with my hands while I admit that it looks worse than I ever even realized. Except change that to the past tense because I officially have a (small) section of my pantry that’s super-organized and makes me look I’m channeling Martha Stewart. You guys — it makes me SO happy every time I see it because suddenly my life is that much more zen.
The truth is that I’m really quite good at ignoring a mess for a prolonged amount of time, which means that this whole pantry reorganization deal would never have happened if it weren’t for the awesome people at OXO and The Container Store. I owe 100% of this mini makeover to their 10-Piece POP Container Set and their POP Cereal Dispensers (aka a few things I never knew I needed in my life and am now in love with). It worked out so well for me that I thought I’d share the deets and maybe inspire some of you to do some kitchen/pantry organizing. It’s kinda like the idea of all those gorgeous pins you see on Pinterest that make you want to reorganize your entire life, except in this case I can promise you it’s easy-peasy.
I wanted (read: would have been slightly mortified) to show you guys pictures of my actual pantry, but not enough space to move around + weird yellow-orange lighting does not a good picture make. Instead, I pulled everything out to an area where pictures were actually possible, but kept it all in the same state of disarray just to keep things real.
So this ↑ was essentially the baking section of my pantry. There’s all those grocery bags containing bags of flour or sugar (you’ll never really know which until you dig through them), brown sugar in a cookie dough container, and random packages of things like nuts and thin mints that occasionally get buried under everything and disappear.
Then I transferred everything to the OXO containers and I had this:
WAY TOO EASY.
I actually have EXTRA room on my previously over-crowded baking shelf now (thank you stacking containers in neat little square and rectangular shapes) and I can find things instantly. I’m also kinda in love with the fact that they fit together like pieces of a puzzle and make me look like the most organized person everrrr. Plus, these are the coolest little containers because they all pop open with a single touch on the lid, which makes my life 1,000,000 times easier because when I bake, my hands are usually covered in dough/batter/etc. Not making a mess to get your ingredients out in the first place makes for a way faster & easier cleanup – #winning. (Because really – cleaning up sucks.)
I’m also super excited about sharing all this with you guys because OXO and The Container Store are sponsoring a HUGE giveaway which means that one of you can do some major kitchen reorganization for free free free. :) Just to get you thinking about what all you can do with these containers – here’s what I did with them:
Only one of the cereal dispensers was designated for its original purpose, because the truth is that I hate cereal. The good thing is that they’re perfect for lots of other stuff…
Then I used the 10-piece POP set for allll the rest of my major baking stuff, plus a few odds and ends.
Now for the good stuff: You can enter the OXO/Container Store giveaway here and you might just be the lucky one who wins $250 worth of OXO Storage and Organizational Tools (your choice!) plus a $250 elfa gift card. The giveaway starts today (October 13th) and will run through October 31st. And truth — these little storage containers will make your inner organizing self SO happy. Trust me ;)
P.S. These are some of the OXO storage/organizational tools I would totally get if I won that giveaway. (I may buy a few of them anyway because now that I’m on a reorganizing spree, why not really?)
Somebody please save me before I spend all my money on reorganizing my kitchen. PLEASE.

I love the after and how all of the containers fit together. I don’t like cereal either (lol), but it’s good to know how versatile these containers will be and I will have a happier kitchen. :-)
